Heri Pahali is an invocation and chant sending up praise to the Almighty One, bringing the attention and focus of people who will hear these words sung in Swahili to an enlightenment of the high station and presence of the Almighty. Once His name is spoken, there He will be. Even non-Swahili speakers feel attracted to the sound and essence of this song when they hear it. The words were translated elegantly and set to melody in the sweet language of Swahili by Dermot McHugh, a musician from Tanzania, who says, “The true beauty of it all lies in the spiritual poetry of this prayer of Baha'u'llah.” What more can I say?
